Discover the Drift, our 1st full-frame Nymphing Fly Fishing Reel.
The Drift is fully machined from 6061 aluminum bar stock heat treated to a T6 condition, which significantly increases strength. We designed the frame with a full cage to minimize the possibility of getting your leader or Euro Nymphing line wrapped around the spindle. The Drift was designed with a large arbor for fast line retrieval. To help balance your set up we designed the reel to be customized by using one of our balancing rings (.5, 1, and 1.25 oz rings included). These stainless rings are mounted over the center drag housing on the inside of the frame to maintain the perfect center of gravity at the reel’s center. The ring is held in place with a setscrew. We provide a high-quality machined screwdriver to secure the weight in place.
The spool is fully ported and balanced for fast line drying and smooth vibration free operation.
The Drift utilizes the proven technology of our Razorback reel. The use of our cone drive gives the Drift an incredibly strong and stable feel. It eliminates the effects of torque and shock by providing additional surface contact and by locking the spool into place on a conical cylinder.
Our drag system uses multiple carbon discs to apply smooth stopping power. It is fully sealed and can be used in saltwater. We even seal our reverse direction bearing. This gives us one of the most robust and watertight drags on the market today.
The Drift can be switched to right or left hand retrieval with instructions included. Protective neoprene pouch with weight ring storage included.
